We’ve been out of range for sometime now. Happily I don’t know what day it is or how many days we’ve been out of range. It just doesn’t seem to matter.
However, after Wave Rock we travelled south to Kulin (a great little town with wonderful free camping and facilities) and then along the Tin Horse Highway. What an amazing community effort has been put in to this place. It started out as a community campaign to promote the Kulin Races but now every farmer along the way has a different tin horse in his paddock. They provide a lot of laughs along an otherwise pretty dull highway. This is just a very small example. There was one about every kilometre.
Then on to Bremer Bay.
Such a beautiful place and the caravan park was just over the road from the water. Great amenities and very friendly people. However, Kirsty and I went walking along a bush track down to the beach and a snake crawled across the track in front of us. We turned around to head back the way we had come but a bigger snake crawled across the track right behind us. What a fun day!
We stayed at Bremer Bay a few days and travelled to the very very beautiful Fitzgerald River National Park. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves other than to say ‘Wow!!!’.
(that’s Kirsty down there on the beach in the red shirt) and back to Bremer Bay
Aaahh, yes, the flies. We have ingested more flies over the past few weeks than ever in our lives. They get into your ears, eyes and nose. It’s gross to say, but I blew my nose into a tissue the other day and a fly flew away out of it. Yes, I know, eeeewwww!!!!
Now, on to Albany.
It just looks beautiful.
Hey Barb, it certainly is that. We’ve seen some absolutely stunning scenery. Are you any closer to buying the mh?
It looks like you are both having a magical time. Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy! Albany is a very beautiful place that I would like to return to and explore at a slower pace.
Hi Sue, Yes, Albany is fantastic. So much to see and do. We’re currently in Denmark. Kirsty needs to be back in Perth by 5/12 so we’re on a roll. Have had a wonderful time and seen amazing places but did a few dirt tracks and some bush camping over the past couple of days and everything (including us) is covered in red dust! Kirsty sends her best. Great to hear from you.
What a great promoter you are of the southern coast of Western Australia. Some stunning pics. Please keep on inspiring us all to throw away our suburban lives and hit the playground. Hugs Marg xx
C’mon you two, hurry up and join me in the playground! You won’t be sorry, I promise.
Arrrrrr yessssss the flies.
I had forgotten those wonderful little friends and their amazing anticipation, you just has to think about getting out the BBQ equipment and they were there ……… waiting. Sadly were don’t have them in England.
No need to go to all that trouble here, the flies are just thick whether or not there’s food or bbqs happening.
Oh my the flies!!! Ewew!! Using up heaps of aeroguard? Amazing photos and views… you’re right MoM… wow…. keep them coming!! Sending you lots of hugs from 3122.
They couldn’t care less about Aerogard. We’ve bought net to go over our hats and faces but the bod is open slather and some of the little beggars bite!
Lynne – the country you are travelling though is truly spectacular. Your photos are beautiful! I am envious right now of your loping pace of life and ‘freedom’ with Betty. Life at #92 has been manic this past month. Building a deck, (and a bathroom) and a ferocious storm makes this place look like Aleppo on a good night. Enjoy it all wonderful woman!! What’s your snail mail address in Perth. Its’ Xmas card time.
Joyx
Lynne, you are seeing some spectacular country – coastlines of WA I didn’t know existed. Your sojourn is making me quite itchy-footed. It’s good to hear that you and Betty are keeping up standards – no chateau cardboard for you two gals! Maybe you’ll find a country town that apologies for how old their red wine is…..
happy safe travels dear one!!
I’ll certainly keep looking for that town!!!
Lynne – I HAVE LOST your phone number!!!! If you are reading this in Brisbane before you leave for the west PLEASE CALL ME!! 38482597 0428346943
We are back early from Carnarvon and if its possible I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU!!
